Luxury Love George Washington Hotel

There’s nothing more luxurious than an elegant ballroom wedding. And you’ll find luxury love at the George Washington Hotel in Winchester.

Luxury Love George Washington Hotel

The historic George Washington Hotel was built in 1924. After sitting idle for many years, it reopened as a Wyndham Grand Hotel in 2008. The Grand Ballroom is luxury love with large windows, natural light, and gold tones. The ballroom features elevated ceilings and ornate woodwork, as well as plush carpet and Swarovski crystal chandeliers. Couples exchange vows in front of the mantle and its large, elegant mirror. The room comfortably holds seated receptions of 180 and up to 300 for strolling (cocktail style) parties.

Garden Weddings with the GW

The Pocket Garden of the GW Hotel

Smaller spaces, like the Pocket Garden, are also available for more intimate affairs. The garden hosts up to 50 for a ceremony or cocktail hour and has an adjacent room. And the hotel partners with the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley just minutes away, so GW couples can also use their gardens for ceremonies.

Affordable George Washington Hotel Luxury Love

Luxury does not mean prohibitively expensive when booking a GW wedding. The hotel’s creative culinary team and Wedding Specialist Jane Obst customize menus to meet both tastes and budgets. Popular wedding packages are $89-$119 per person with full open bar. Fresh oyster shooters, antipasto displays, mini crab cakes and crab corn chowder, seared salmon, beef tenderloin, and filet mignon are favorites.

Wedding Guest Luxury

Hosting a wedding at the George Washington is also a luxury for out of town guests. The hotel has 90 beautifully decorated rooms and suites. The suites feature gas fireplaces, living areas, spa showers, heated towel racks and numerous upgrades.

The hotel’s saltwater pool is like a Roman bathouse. Guests can book a relaxing massage at the Saumaj Health Spa. The Half Note Lounge with live music makes a great gathering place while George’s Food & Spirits serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And since the GW is in the heart of Winchester’s historic district, guests will find plenty to do.

The George Washington Hotel is located at 103 East Piccadilly Street. Call Amy VanMeter at (540) 771-2740 or email and schedule your tour. You can also find more beautiful wedding venues on Blue Ridge Bride. We’ll help you find your wedding style.
