Meet West Oaks Farm Market’s Levi Snapp, a 10th generation farmer who combines Shenandoah Valley agriculture, hospitality and weddings.
Meet West Oaks Levi Snapp
Levi carries on a heritage that began in the 18th Century. “Our family has been tilling the same soil since 1755 and has no plans of stopping,” he says. West Oaks Farm Market, just outside Winchester, is the family’s newest agribusiness venue. Levi manages the market in addition to handling weddings and special events.
West Oaks Farm Market sits on 200 acres. Because of its location, the venue has an almost 360 degree view. Says Levi, “We wanted to build an affordable venue that’s community-centered and flexible. And we enjoy sharing the view.”
Rustic venue rentals help keep a 21st Century family farm viable. Levi has a BS in Agribusiness Management from Virginia Tech with a focus in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
Along with team member Ashley Landes, Levi works with wedding couples from initial contact through the event. “Customer service is one of our highest priorities. We’re not here to simply provide a wedding venue. We’re excited to build relationships with our wedding couples and work together the entire process.”
A love of the land and community also resides in Ashley. The Shenandoah University graduate is a former field ecologist who has worked with a number of community outreach programs. Ashley’s also planning her own wedding at West Oaks Farm Market. What caught her eye about the venue? “With almost a 360 degree view, it’s beautiful here all seasons,” says the bride.
Levi’s Wedding Advice
But a wedding venue is more than a building. It’s also the enthusiasm the professionals bring to the place. Says Levi, “There’s no greater feeling than seeing so many loved ones surround a couple, to lift them up with a celebration of this exciting step in life. The most important piece to a perfect wedding is a happy couple. And we know you’ll be happy if you partner with us. I look forward to working together.”
Hub of Community
Besides being a wedding venue, West Oaks Farm Market is also a community hub. Just take a look at the market’s Facebook page. There’s a fundraiser for Winchester Area Thermal Shelter, summer harvest festival, yoga practice, and the Taste of Blue Ridge Fire & Ice Gala featuring the farm’s bounty and Chef Erik Foxx-Nettnin from Magnolia’s at the Mill.
