What do you get when you combine beautiful scenery, local musicians, and mountain biking? You get a musical adventure and Fall Jam at Bryce Resort on Saturday, October 12. And because you’re engaged, what better way to get in a wedding tour the day after?
Fall Jam at Bryce Resort
This is Bryce Resort’s first Fall music festival and it highlights Shenandoah Valley musicians. The festival kicks off at 3pm with Molly Murphy from The Judy Chops and her unique blend of of swing, blues, rock, and soul. Next is the Dustin Pence Duo with original tunes along with favorite covers. Harrisonburg’s Indie Soul trio Prince Bellrose follows up with jazz, R&B, and folk inspired improvisation. Completing the evening’s lineup are Thieves of Burden and the Ben Kunkle Band. Thieves of Burden is an original alt-country rock band while the Ben Kunkle Band bills their music as alternative Appalachian rock. Great local music for only $5 a head.
Biking at Bryce Resort Fall Jam
Biking enthusiasts love this four season resort’s bike park. Bring your spokes and test your skills at the summer race finale. This is great for anyone new to racing, looking to improve, or just eager to test their skills against the clock.
In addition to the race, Bryce Bike Park is hosting a “Glow n Flow” where you can bike under the stars and the resort’s ski slope lights. Bring a bike specific light (there will be a small supply available for purchase).
Where to Stay at Bryce’s Fall Jam
While Bryce Resort doesn’t offer hotel accommodations, you’ll find several options in the Woodstock/Mt. Jackson/New Market areas. Just click here to find a complete list. And because it’s a music festival, Bryce has car camping in the overflow parking lot. These spots are reserved on a first come, first served basis.
Bryce Resort Weddings
If you’re on the hunt for a wedding location, why not combine the music festival with a venue tour the next day? Bryce offers outdoor wedding ceremonies on top of the mountain as well as at Lake Laura. And there are three indoor reception locations at the base of the mountain. Make it a wedding weekend with seasonal resort activities for you and your guests. And since the resort has an experienced wedding specialist in Jackie Moe, you can rest assured that your special day is in capable hands.
The music festival is just one example of romantic adventures in the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley. Check out more adventures on The Fun Stuff page of Go Blue Ridge Bride. And visit our sister site, Go Blue Ridge Travel, too.
